Craving nuggets, waffle fries and lemonade, but stuck at home during quarantine? There’s a good chance you can get your favorite Chick-fil-A menu items delivered to your door! Back in the day, pizza was just about the only food we associated with delivery. Now, everything from filet mignon to French fries can be delivered to your door. And if you work it right, without added fees. According to Chickfila.com, more than half of Chick-fil-A restaurants offer delivery through their national partnerships with services like DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats.

Delivery Options for Chick-fil-A

Hosts of My Pleasure: The Unofficial Chick-fil-A Podcast organized the first ever Nugget Grand Prix. We recruited our friend, media personality Keri Lumm to join in the race. Each person used a different delivery method and we put them head-to-head to see which one was best. Listen to the episode here:

door dash driver

DoorDash

Bronze Medal

DoorDash was recently ranked the most popular food delivery app, according to Cnet.com. In our area, DoorDash was the best deal since there was no delivery fee. Plus, prices were lower on Chick-fil-A menu items compared to Uber Eats. PLUS, you can get $5 off your first three orders when you sign up for DoorDash using our referral link. That’s like scoring a free 8-count nugget each time you order!

In our Nugget Grand Prix, Door Dash was the slowest option. But the service was good and the order was accurate.

Uber Eats Delivery

Uber Eats

Silver Medal

In April, Chick-fil-A announced a nationwide partnership with Uber Eats, offering no delivery fee on orders of $10 or more at participating restaurants. This is a $7.49 savings in most areas. No word on whether this will continue, but you can eliminate the delivery fee on your first order when you use code eats-alisonl153.

During the Nugget Grand Prix, Alison used Uber Eats to order a Market Salad, Nugget Platter and a medium Waffle Fry. One thing we noticed in our test was that prices were higher on Uber Eats compared with DoorDash. The Market Salad cost $10.65 with Uber Eats, but was $8.05 on DoorDash. These prices may very by location, but it’s something to keep an eye on.

Chick-fil-A One App Mobile Order

Chick-fil-A One App

Gold Medal

Podcast host Jim Mann lives a mile from a Chick-fil-A, yet he’s one of the unfortunate people who do not have a delivery option available to him. Instead, he placed his Chick-fil-A order using the One app. He had his daughter pick up his order through the drive thru. Jim’s order arrived to his home first, snagging him the gold medal in the Nugget Grand Prix.

Grubhub

Grubhub is another popular food delivery service, however it was not available as an option for any of our competitors in the Nugget Grand Prix. According to the company’s website, Grubhub has the largest and most comprehensive network of restaurant partners. But in our area, Chick-fil-A was not one of Grubhub’s restaurant partners. Grubhub says food menu prices at the restaurant are identical to the prices you’ll find at Grubhub.com, which we noticed was not the case for other services. If you would like to try out Grubhub use this referral code to get $5 off when you place your first order.

Delivery Tips

To minimize contact with others, and reduce the chance of encountering unwanted germs, select to have orders left at your door. We also noticed a two-sauce limit with our orders. Alison ordered a nugget platter and was only given the option of receiving two sauce packets. Keep that in mind when you place your order!

The Downside to Delivery

There is one downside to delivery when it comes to Chick-fil-A. Right now, when you use a service like Doordash, Uber Eats or Grubhub, you cannot use your Chick-fil-A One App. That means, no cashing in Chick-fil-A Rewards points and no earning points with these orders. Also, some restaurants require an order minimum for food delivery. If you just have a craving for waffle fries, you may have to add more to your order.
